A very busy day getting staged in the kitchen today!

We had a few inquiring minds curious about our offering for the Backyard Farm Black Box this week, and of course we are more than happy to share! Our VIP list has grown, and yet again, we sold out very quickly. Moving forward, we will be releasing the menus at 2pm on Mondays for the weeks’ pre-orders, and it will continue as a “first come, first serve” basis. We are so thrilled to have so much interest in what we are doing as we continue our efforts in offering quality minded, handcrafted Backyard Farm goodness to our clients. As we still await the confirmed details and regulations regarding the re-opening process, we will continue our Black Box program as we assess the necessary adjustments to allow guests back into our private dining room for private culinary demonstrations and workshops. We can’t wait!

Black Box Menu for May 15th

-1 Loaf of 50% Whole Wheat “Plum” Sourdough Bread (Baked Fresh Friday Morning) from our 6 year old Italian Plum Starter

 -Himrod Grape Sourdough Bagels (Poppyseed, Sesame, Flax Seed and Plain), Roasted Garlic-Local Smoked Paprika Creamcheese.

-Israeli Cous Cous and Grilled Vegetable Salad, Olives, Grape Tomato, Herb Garden Yogurt Dressing

 -Rice Noodle and Cabbage Salad, Sunflower Seed, Broccoli, Julienne Vegetables, Sesame-Soy and Rice Wine Vinaigrette

 -Fester’s Organic Baby Leaf Greens, Late Harvest Peach-Wildbrush Honey Vinaigrette

 -Broccoli and Aged Cheddar Soup, Smoked Onion Crostini

 -Braised Thiessen Farms Turkey Enchiladas(2 Grande), Mikkels’ Handcrafted Duck Fat Tortillas, Organic Brown Rice, Braised Free Range Turkey, House Smoked Bacon Refried Organic Flageolet Beans, Preserved Corn, Grilled Tomatillo Salsa Verde

 Price is $200 for each kit, portioned for 2-($100 for single kits)

We will keep you posted on the next opportunity to purchase a “Black Box”, as we move forward. Likely posted on the website “News” forum, and linked onto our social media pages.

Please note that we will not be allowing pre- orders due to our limited availability. Moving forward, we will be sending the menu at 2PM on Mondays(alternating weeks), and will be confirming orders on a first come-first serve basis. If you are on “The List”(which you are), you will get first right of refusal. The list is now getting pretty long, and we anticipate that we will sell out before the need to put it public, other than to intrigue those who may not be on the list, and showcase our efforts to continue cooking thoughtfully sourced and prepared food for those who appreciate it.
